Austrian Crystal by Swarovski

Daniel Swarovski, the son of a crystal cutter in Bohemia, brought light to crystal over a hundred years ago.

In 1892, inspired by the work of Siemens and Edison that he saw at the First Electrical Exhibition in Vienna, he developed a machine to cut crystal.  This machine made cutting crystal faster and more precise than hand cutting.

Austrian Crystal by Swarovski is considered by many to be the finest, full-lead crystal available.  Containing at least 32%PbO, this optically pure lead crystal is faceted to create prisms.   Beautiful colors and coatings are added to these prisms creating pendants, figurines, beads and much more of a quality and distinction that remains unmatched.

Today the artists at Swarovski Crystal are aided by computers.  A hi-tech cutting process allows them to cut crystal and gems into a hundred identical facets in several directions.

After more than a hundred years, the work and imagination of Daniel Swarovski surges into the future.  It is a future where we can be insured of many more brilliant innovations and creations to brighten our lives.
